Latisse

Latisse is like “Miracle Grow” for your eyelashes.
What is Latisse?
Basically, Latisse is like “Miracle Grow” for your eyelashes.Nobody knows exactly how it works, but Latisse keeps eyelashes in the growth stage for a longer period of time and stimulates the transition from an inactive growth phase to an active one.
It was originally discovered to be effective for growing eyelashes when eye doctors, who were using the drops to treat glaucoma, noticed that their patients were developing very long, full and dark eyelashes.
Thanks to their discovery, we now have a solution for sparse lashes!
There is actually a medical name for sparse eyelashes.  It’s called hypotrichosis.  We know that lashes can fall out from routine wear and tear, but it can also signify underlying medical issues. The most common are thyroid conditions and skin cancer, so you will want to be sure to talk to one of our providers first if this is the case.If not, and you are just tired of wearing mascara and want to see an increase in the length, fullness, and darkness of your own natural lashes Latisse can help you get there!Latisse is the only FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it’s the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription. It typically takes 3 or 4 weeks before you can start to see a difference.  The full treatment is 16 weeks.
How to use Latisse:

  • Close your eye and apply the dose across the top lashes, like you would eyeliner. Enough product should reach the bottom lashes, so no need to apply the bottom lashes separately.
  • In the beginning, you will use Latisse once a day as part of your regular daily routine after you wash your face either in the morning or before bed. If applying in the morning, first put on your eye cream and concealer, then Latisse, and after it is dry, apply any eyeliner. If you miss a day, do not try and play catch up the next day.

Two Phases:  Growth and Maintenance

Growth phase is your first 16 weeks with Latisse®, when your lashes need a daily application in order to reach their full potential.Maintenance phase is everything after Growth phase. You will continue using Latisse® a few times every week to keep your lashes long, thick and dark. People who naturally have very fine or wispy lashes may need to apply Latisse more often in Maintenance phase than the average.

Take advantage of Rewards!
The company who makes Latisse, Allergan, also offers a reward program called Brilliant Distinctions. You get points every time you buy Latisse (or Botox or Juvederm) and can use those points to get discounts on future treatments (similar to airlines’ frequent flyer programs).
Is Latisse safe to use?
Latisse if for healthy eyes (i.e., no glaucoma or infections).  If you are not sure about how healthy your eyes are, go see your eye doctor to get an exam and ask if you are a candidate for Latisse, not everyone is.If, when you do start Latisse, you develop eye or eyelid irritation or eyelid discoloration, stop using the product and call your doctor.

Best value: One Latisse® 5mL kit every 4 months for less frequent use or every 3 months for more frequent use.

Eyelash improvements remain as long as you continue to use the medication. When you stop using Latisse, your eyelashes will eventually return to their original appearance.
